The official Czech digital data box - "datova schranka"
Compulsory, and automatically established for Czech legal entities
On November 1st, 2009, an electronic documents delivery system, "Datové schránky", has been launched by the Ministry of the Interior and the Czech Post.Based on Act No. 300/2008 Coll., its obligatory for all public institutions (e.g. government offices, local governments, institutions established by local or state government etc.) to use data boxes (or so-called eBoxes) instead of traditional paper letters.
The information system of data boxes is carried out by the Czech Post (Česká pošta). It facilitates fast and cheap communication of public authorities, and on the other side it provides the secure delivery of messages and attachments. Also, business enterprises and citizens can use their data boxes to file tax returns, apply for permissions, approvals or licences.
For entrepreneurs ("Limited" firms as well as physical persons with a trade license) this digital databox is established automatically! That means if you don't arrange for the login-data you will miss messages from Czech institutions, like the tax authorities, trade register, courts, cadastre, etc.
